Exciting News!

Finally, my first pattern got published on my dad’s 84th birthday , (June 1st). I am so excited about it. Horrrrray, It happend!

I am on the cloud 9 now . Since then I had few visits and add to favorite and queue which is normal. Since I am quite new in this industry and I am an unknown designer who happened to be so enthusiastic about Mosaic Crochet.

I had my pattern being tested by almost 25 people who were eager to test it. The pattern is in two versions and obviously the testers were free to choose any of them or make both.

I thought it would be nice to share the simple version here. But if you like to have access to the second version plus the charts, (and if you are more comfortable making projects by using charts like me) you can find them on my Ravelry store HERE and my Etsy shop HERE. Don’t miss out JULY PROMOTION!!!!

Materials:

I have crafted these two versions with different yarns. For making any mosaic crochet project you will need two distinctive colors.

For the first version I used cotton and two skeins of yarn have been used (weight of each color: 2*50gr skein) for each color.  For a complete cushion, you will need 200gr of each color.

Hook size: 3.5 mm

Measurement: 42 cm * 42cm

For the second version, I used Cake yarn and a hook size of 2.5mm. The measurement for this square is 30cm * 30cm.

You are welcome to use any yarn of your choice, but keep in mind that the finished size will depend on the yarn weight and hook size you use.

Abbreviation (US Terms):

Ch – Chain

SC – Single Crochet

DC – Double Crochet

HDC – Half Double Crochet

BLSC – Back Loop Single Crochet

FLDC – Front Loop Double Crochet

SL St – Slip Stitch

YO- Yarn Over

*.* – Repeat instructions between asterisks

Start with a magic ring and then16 HDC inside the ring + SL St +Ch 1. Because our project is a square, we should make our four corners first. Therefore, in Round 1 and all other Rounds, we will have SC+ Ch 2+ SC in each corner. Remember to chain 1 after sl st. in each round. Our pattern will start from the second chain in the corner.

Remember SC in Mosaic Crochet is Back loop only and DC is worked on the front loop of two rounds down below the same stitch with the same yarn color of the current round.
