New Pattern Release- Shabnam a Mosaic table runner

Welcome to the world of mosaic crochet! If you’re a fan of this technique, then you’re going to love my latest pattern release: Shabnam, A Mosaic Table Runner.

Mosaic crochet is a technique that creates stunning colorwork designs using simple stitches. It’s a popular choice among crocheters because it allows you to add pops of color to your projects without the need for complicated color changes.

If you’re new to mosaic crochet, my latest pattern release, Shabnam, A Mosaic Table Runner, is the perfect project to get you started. This beautiful overlay mosaic design is suitable for crocheters of all skill levels and includes detailed instructions and step-by-step written instructions to guide you through the process.

The Shabnam pattern is written in standard American crochet terms and includes a detailed materials list. It uses only basic crochet stitches, making it a great choice for those who are new to mosaic crochet. It’s also a great pattern for more experienced crocheters who are looking to try their hand at this technique.

One of the things I love most about the Shabnam pattern is its versatility. You can use any colors you like to make it your own, or even change the size to suit your needs. It would make a great addition to any table setting, or even as a wall hanging or throw blanket.

Before you get started on the Shabnam pattern, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the basics of mosaic crochet. First, you’ll need to choose your yarn and hook. I recommend using a medium-weight yarn and a crochet hook that is appropriate for the yarn you’ve chosen.

Next, you’ll need to decide on your color scheme. Mosaic crochet is all about using color to create the design, so choosing the right colors is crucial. I recommend choosing at least four colors for the Shabnam pattern, but you can use as many as you like. Just be sure to choose colors that complement each other and have good contrast.

Once you have your materials and colors ready, it’s time to start crocheting! The Shabnam pattern uses a combination of single crochets, double crochets, and slip stitches to create the mosaic design. The pattern includes step-by-step instructions and charts to guide you through the process.

One thing to keep in mind when working on the Shabnam pattern is that it’s important to pay attention to your tension. To maintain even tension, I recommend using a slightly larger crochet hook than you would normally use for the yarn you’ve chosen.

Mosaic crochet is a technique that requires a bit of practice and patience, but the end result is worth it. The Shabnam pattern is a great project to get you started, and with a bit of time and effort, you’ll be able to create a beautiful and unique piece that will be the envy of all your friends.

So, are you ready to give mosaic crochet a try? The Shabnam pattern is now available for purchase, and I can’t wait to see what you create!

First Designversary!

One year ago, on June 1st, 2021, I found the courage to publish my very first design. I remember how it seemed hard to me at first but I never forget the excitement of bringing my talent up to the attention of other people all around the world. It was definitely a big jump for me out of my comfort zone, but absolutely worth it. I will always have my regret why I haven’t started earlier.

I had lots of ups and downs in the past 12 months. I thought maybe people are not as excited as myself to try a pattern by a new, yet unknown designer. sometimes discouraged to continue as I didn’t receive any feedback from the potential buyers. But I do appreciate and cherish any sales although it was not a big number compared to well-known designers like Tinna, still counts as an accomplishment.

Now I have 5 published patterns that l love as my babies. And my 2022 resolution was to design 100 patterns in the second year of being a designer. Charts of 25 patterns are ready now. They are close to being tested as I have to work on their written instructions first.

I wanted to announce a CAL for this anniversary, but unfortunately, I needed more time to get ready for my first CAL. Like all new things and the first time doing, I had to learn the process myself and add adaptations to my pattern called Maryam in Square CAL.

As the pattern was not tested by the professional testers, I was introduced to a group of professional testers by a Facebook friend. Thanks to Laurene who helped me get in touch with these amazing ladies. So the CAL is under test now and I will announce the starting date as soon as the test finishes and the pattern is ready to get published. Stay tuned!

Last but not least, I do have two running promotions until the end of June 2022:

Geometric Shapes And New Patterns in Mosaic Crochet

Geometric shapes with thousands years of existance do not belong to anybody. They are universal and can be used for any purposes. In Mosaic crochet also we are dealing with these beautiful and symmetrical shapes. The combination and mixture of these shapes actually create a new form and style in crocheting. In my belief, we just use a new technique to repeat the same shapes created thousands of years ago by our ancesters. But can we claim that these are our own invention and creation? Can we say that these are our new design while we are using the existing patterns remained from the past?

It is better to say we are reusing these patterns by using new techniques to save the patterns for new generation. This is the appreciation and not simply copying the past!

Most of these Geometric Shapes and patterns do exist in the works of art as our heritage in my homeland, Iran. If you go to Isfahan, Shiraz , Yazd and Kerman( the oldest cities in Iran) you will see many beautiful Geometric shapes in old buildings. As a matter of fact, most of these shapes and patterns were designed and introduced by Iranian Mathematicians to the world.

These patterns were used by Persian artists of all ages. Persian rugs are the best example. We have different types of rugs such as Carpet( Farsh or Ghali), Glim, Jajim and Gabeh and many others.

I am trying to convert those existing shapes and patterns from Persian Rugs into Mosaic Crochet and I believe it is the only thing I can do at the moment to introduce those designs to other people all over the world.I have always been obssessed with rugs and their patterns since my mom was making Persian carpet herself and she thaught me how to read the patterns from the map and sometimes there was not a map for what she made and she did it by heart. I wish I could remeber those patterns. Of course converting those patterns into Mosaic Crochet is a tedious work since it needs counting and concentration and testing the pattern before even thinking to publish it so that others can enjoy using it as a different pattern. This is a new adventure and I know it takes time and needs research and I need to understand if these two different style are compatible and convertable or not.

Wish me luck.

Mosaic Crochet A New Technique Or An Adventure!

I have recently entered the world of Mosaic Crochet, although I have learned crochetting since I was 10 and it is a kind of releafing activity for me. I personally love crocheting very much but this new technique is the whole new world and I am happy at this critical moment of world’s uncertaintity I am certain of what I do.

I have opened a new page on Instagram and I share my findings and learning and I try to introduce mosaic crochet to Iranian crochet lovers and I teach its techniques in my native language, Farsi. It’s a new adventure and I just want to be active and do something for disappointed and depressed people in Iran. Even though there are lots of tutorial on the web or in social media, I thought there is room for improvement and many people in Iran are not good at English and they need someone to translate the works of art and I am playing the role of that translator for them. It’s a very simple and small effort to spread kindness so that we can save the world. I hope that doesn’t sound like I am copying anybody cuz this isn’t my intention at all. My effort might seem as light after a dark tunnel. If it helps people to overcome their fears, reduces their anxiety and stress and bring them peace and joy , I think I have reached my goal.

Mosaic crochet is something beyond a simple act of creation. It is like a therapy and I highly recommand it if you are spending a time of anxiety.

In this post I want to share with you some of my own creation using tuturials from differnt youtube channels. My special thanks to Tinna from Iceland. I think she is the number one in Mosaic crochet and I am grateful of her generosity. I have used some of her designs. She is an active designer in raverly.com You can find her free and paid designs in that website.
